Settled into Kauai Beach Resort…

All settled in for a four night stay at the Kauai Beach Resort.  Rested for a half hour or so, now getting ready to grab a lite late lunch and some soda for the fridge before a bit of sight seeing.
The resort has the torch lighting ceremony and manager’s reception with free MaiTai’s this evening, so we may not stray far and enjoy that, since it is a Tuesday only event now. (Used to be nightly back in 2007…)

Golden Gate Bridge & Marin Headlands

Spent most of the day exploring the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, from the North End Visitors Center to the high points of the Marin Headlands.

Marianne didn’t appreciate the cliff-side drive one lane road with an 18% downslope grade and sharp curves.  But, driving at 15mph with the transmission in the lowest gear made it an easy trip down to Point Bonita Light.

Of course, there was no place to park when we got there, but the views we did have were SPECTACULAR, here are some from the phone:

History Park San Jose…

I have wanted to visit History Park in San Jose during the layovers in the SF Bay area for the past three trips, but this was the first time we actually were in town when the print shop was staffed so we could visit with letterpress friends.

Had a great visit with Jim & Eric, and recommend the park in general to visitors to the area.

Here are some of the pictures from our visit…
