The shear cliffs of the east Kohala coast and a view of Pololu Valley. The only access to the valley is a hike down a steep dirt path for about 1700 feet vertical elevation. It is about a 1½ mile to the bottom via the path. We stayed up at the vista point.
Our helicopter flight turned back south just short of the valley yesterday and flew up into a different one for waterfall pictures I have yet to post.

After we left Queen’s Shoppes @ Waikoloa Village, we continued north to the upper Kohala coast to explore a bit. The first thing we saw was the island of Maui, which is only about 50 miles off the coast…
From here we headed to Hawk and out to the eastern cliffs…

Looks like it might be a nicer day today, but it is hard to tell from our vantage point of an ocean front room (hard to see the clouds on the mountains). So, I think we are headed on a ride around the south end of the island over to Volcano Park and Hilo today…
