We got out of the house about 3pm today, but had to make an elongated route to Syracuse to drop some stuff off in Camden. But, just as we were getting to Camden, Marianne remembered we forgot some items that were important. So, we had to return to Rome when we were done in Camden to collect forgotten items…
So, we got back to the house about 4pm, but along the way the low tire pressure light came on, alerting us to a soft tire. A couple days ago, I had found a couple nails in the driveway, so I was thinking we were headed for a flat tire. Fortunately, a couple minutes later, the notification light went out, and when we got home, the tires all looked fine.
We open the garage overhead and go to the door to get into the house, and my key will not turn the lock, and neither will Marianne’s! Must be a pin in the tumbler is stuck or something. Instead, we had to go around to the front door to get in. Marianne got the forgotten items, and I tried to find some spray to lubricate the lock, but all I could find was carb cleaner, which did nothing… But, our cat sitter can still get in through the front door, and he will try to get the lock working again while we are away….
You know how people say things come in threes? Well, we are hoping these are our “three problems” for this trip and it will be clear sailing (flying) going forward….
Tomorrow comes early, 3:30am wake up call for a 4:30am shuttle to the airport to catch our 6:00am flight to San Francisco via Chicago O’Hare, United Flights: UA3612 & UA1589
Well, a week from today will be our one full day in the San Francisco Bay area. Still deciding on three possibilities for spending our time:
1: Travel north of the Golden Gate Bridge, explore the area around Muir Woods and Mt. Tamalpais then wander around Sausalito.
2: Take the long drive south below Monterey, along the Big Surprise coastline as far south as San Simeon/Cambria before turning inland to drive back up Route 101 to return to South San Francisco.
3: Explore the Tourist Sites in San Francisco proper… After four round trips, we have only been to downtown San Francisco once, in 2013, when we went to dinner with Steve Lipman. If Steve can work out the free time, we are hoping he will play the role of tour guide to hit the tourist sites this trip…
Thoughts, ideas and suggestions appreciated….
Testing the Google “My Tracks” app to see how it works to post where we have been traveling to use on our next Hawaii vacation. I am hoping to be able to post daily maps of our travels. Maybe not air miles, but at least road miles…
This is our return from Tanger Outlets at Riverhead, NY to Joe’s Crab Shack at Tanger outlets at The Arches in Deer Park. About an hour’s drive, but a good test, I think…

Well, as of 6:00am this morning, we were exactly two months (or 63 days) from our departure date for our next Hawaii Vacation. I have completed the 2015 Editions of the O’ahu Travel Guide and Big Island Travel Guide, and they are available for download if anyone is interested in reviewing them.
All of the information contained within the guides has been compiled from online sources, mainly the Official Tourism Website for Hawai’i with some items from other locations. We will use this information during our travels to facilitate our visiting the attractions we are most interested in seeing. Since this will be our fourth visit to both O’ahu and the Big Island of Hawai’i, we will be more selective on our sightseeing, and maybe a bit more relaxed in our daily activities. It is definitely not like our first visit in 2007, when we thought it was likely our one and only visit to the State of Paradise…
