Another Beautiful Morning

Coming back up to the north shore last night meant dealing with a little “rush hour” traffic both in Waikiki and over in Kanehoe (we decided to avoid H1 through Honolulu and come up the east shore). Ran through some heavy fog and mist by the Pali Lookout and in spots heading north. Hopefully this was a sign that the trade winds are rebuilding and the VOG will be thinning out.

The north shore seas are a little calmer this morning, only 2-3 foot breakers. When we got here on Thursday, there were some nice 5-8 foot surfing swells out there. We took pictures of the surfers here at Turtle Bay, but I didn’t post those pictures, as I recall… I just checked, I didn’t take any with the SideKick…

Well, today it is off to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet this morning, then a drive up the west shore, where we did not go last time… More to follow… Sent from my T-Mobile SideKick LX-2009

National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific

Also known as Punchbowl. This is the pacific’s version of Arlington National Cemetery.

The first picture is looking up towards the memorial that lists the names of all servicemen lost in WWII, Korea and Vietnam who’s bodies were never recovered or identified, along with missing in action. Over 25,000 names.

The second is looking back at the entrance of the burial area, and the third is from the overlook towards Waikiki and Diamond Head…
