Sorry no posts to the blog yesterday. It started out as a not so good day with news that a good friend back home is gravely ill. Prayers are needed for our friend Beth at this time. We are praying/hoping for a good prognosis, but the situation is extremely serious.
Since we did not feel like sitting through the shows at the Polynesian Cultural Center, we hit the roads once again around 11am….

It really looked like a beautiful sunset was in the works for tonight, but alas, it did not occur. It looked good from our balcony @ Turtle Bay, right up until we left for dinner, then the heavier clouds moved in. By the time we got down to Hale’iwa, the clouds took over….  Seven nights on O’ahu and not a single beautiful sunset…

This is the western ridge separating the center island area from the leewatd coast. There is one military highway over the ridge, but everyone else has to go around the southeast corner of the island. Taken from the entrance to the Dole Plantation.
