Once we got things a bit settled with our plans after the news about Beth, we headed south down the windward coast, stopping at Malekahana Beach to watch some surfers head about 1/3 mile off shore to catch the limited surf. Marianne had to pose on the driftwood we were sitting on before we left….

Makapu’u Beach, Rabbit & Turtle Island from the Overlook.
After this, we headed over to Hawaii Kai for a bit of shopping and dinner @ Outback Steakhouse.
Still an hour plus drive back to Turtle Bay Resort…

Panoramic view of Diamond Head, Waikiki & Honolulu taken from the wayside atop Round Top.  Drove up via Round Top Drive and returned via Tantalus Drive through the rain forest.
After some spasms in my back, we have decided to drive around today instead of standing for the shows at the PCC….

Ok, before we got to the PCC, we drove over to the Dole Plantation to get our family name painted Hawaiian style.
Of course this also involved consuming another portion of Pineapple Whip before we left 🙂

Walked out to the beach after breakfast, but I didn’t have my sun glasses or hat and was blinded by the bright sunshine!!

Now off to explore a bit before heading to the Polynesian Cultural Center for their afternoon shows….
