The past two evenings, I take out the SideKick to check for emails, and there is little or no activity… It takes me a minute to realize it is now after midnight back home and most of my relatively sane friends have gone to bed to get some sleep before work in the morning…
But, those of you on the west coast, it still only 9pm đŸ˜‰

This is the dry cave tunnel at Tunnels Beach near the end of the road past Hanalei on the north shore. We walked back into the cave as far we could see. I took some pictures with the digital camera after finding a battery at the Ching Young Village shops camera store…

Well, two stupid things today…
#1: I forgot to recharge the battery in the digital camera last night, and it died early on today. Or spare non-rechargeable was also dead (oops!). I finally found a new spare battery in a camera store in Hanalei. Not an unreasonable price, and better than waiting to get back down to Lihue and go to walmart this evening to save a couple bucks.
#2: I left the SideKick LX-2009 in the car while we were at Kiluea Lighthouse, so no “on the scene” blog entry from there… Look for some pictures from our DVD camera tonight or tomorrow..

Ok, so it’s already afternoon for those of you back on the east coast, but the day is just getting started here… Sunrise in about a half hour or so…
The radio is talking about hazy conditions today, and saying that the “Kona winds” are the cause, so it is actually VOG (volcanic fog). Must be there is some serious volcanic activity on the big island right now.
Would look it up on the web, but the SideKick has limited service inside the hotel (in and out), wireless on the laptop is very poor, and I just found out my ethernet port is not functioning!!! Hopefully someone makes a cheap USB to Ethernet adapter so I can get high speed access on O’ahu, as Turtle bay does not have very good wireless either, but that will be Thursday.
For now, I can live with the poor wireless when I sit out on the lanai. Time to today under way….
