We got to the airport at 10:30, and barely made it through security and the walk to the gate by the 12:10 boarding time for a 12:51 departure… Landing in San Francisco about 9:40…

Well, it’s a little after 7am, and our day is getting started as we prepare to depart paradise. Our flight leaves Honolulu about 12:51pm, and we need to return the rental car by 10:45am, so we have to head to the airport by 9:30 at the absolute latest. It is an hour drive plus down to Honolulu, and if possible, we want to make a couple stops along the way.
But, first, or final breakfast buffet!

…for this trip anyway!
We had a nice final day on O’ahu. Unfortunately, we got caught up in some rush hour traffic in Honlulu and Kanehoe, but the ride back up the east shore was relaxing. Headed for dinner now, then packing up for our departure in the morning. We should be out of the hotel by 9:30am on our way to the airport, after one more filling breakfast buffet… Sent from my T-Mobile SideKick LX-2009
…on the southeast corner of the island. The first picture is looking northwest up the east coast towards Kanehoe.
The second is the largest sea lion around . From this perspective, it looks like the head of a lion (with a little imagination)
For the rest of our last day in paradise, we decided to just drive around and relax, checking out a few sights we did not visit the last time, and some we did… Stopped at some east shore beaches that we missed previously, and now we are thinking of a short walk to a waterfall, if it is not too big of a hike… Sent from my T-Mobile SideKick LX-2009
Looking down from our balcony this morning, it appears some sort of filming or TV activity is getting set up for today. Marianne mentioned something yesterday about seeing something similar in the same are, but this seems much more active, maybe a preview setup team yesterday…
Anyway, I am feeling much better today, still some cough and drizzly nose, but tolerable. I just hope it stays away from Marianne…
We enjoyed the “Horizons” show at the Polynesian Cultural Center last night, even though the DVD camcorder battery died 3 minutes before the end of the show…. (figures)
We may go back today to see more of the center, and check out a few more sights on our last full day in paradise…
